Offered for your approval, the Halloween arrest of James Miller. The sad irony for this 18 year old is this mug shot the morning after Halloween.
According to the arrest report obtained by the smoking gun.com, the Ohio college student was driving the wrong way down a one way street. Cops pulled him over and found open containers everywhere. That’s the sadly routine part of the story.
The part that makes this crazy and ironic is the outfit Miller was wearing while arrested.
His potato sack-like costume says “free breath-a-lyzer“. As part of the costume, there’s a tube down by his “willy” that says “blow here.”
It’s funny and at the same time sad.
If he had been wearing a t-shirt reading “life’s crazy, kick it in the teeth,” nobody in the world beside Miller’s momma and perhaps me, would give a damn.
But now he’s a sight gag. He’ balloon boy minus the mylar. I watched a local TV station run his story on the nightly news. It was a joke. They laughed about his DUI arrest as part of the weather toss.
Way to go Miller. It’s just a matter of time before you are the butt of Jokes on Leno, Letterman and Stewart.
The reason? DUI isn’t funny. It’s the irony. You get busted wearing a breath-a-lyzer costume and then ultimately get booked, blowing into a breath-a-lyzer, wearing a breath-a-lyzer outfit. You, Mr. Miller, have now officially entered my silly mug shot hall of fame. Can you say
I-R-O-N-Y?
According to published reports: “Miller’s costume, which retails for about $30, includes three sobriety levels: Boring, Life of the Party, and Sotally Tober. It also includes a well-placed plastic tube with the instructions “Blow Here.”
If Miller doesn’t change his ways, he could end up in a jail cell blowing more than just a breath-a-lyzer tube.
And that is crazy.
