You know what’s crazy? I’ll tell you what’s crazy™
The Government shut down.
I’ve written about this too many times in this space.
It’s really pissing me off. Are you pissed America? You should be. I’m pissed. I’m angry. I’d like to whack a congressional melon with a bipartisan ax handle.
Instead of productivity we get grid lock.
Instead of bi-partisan politics, we get lethargic finger-pointing.
WTF is going on America?
As I write this, the government is about to shut down, at least partially and it’s frustrating.
This seems like another episode of Washington insiders chest beating and seeing whose bill is bigger.
In the meantime, Parks are shutting down. Passports won’t be available. Slower trips through TSA screening checkpoints are the new reality.
I’m sure old people and children are gonna love that.
Are you kidding me? How much more can we take.
I feel like going postal on you political punks and I don’t even have a stamp.
I understand that some of you hate Obama Care and some of you not so much.
But you know what? That dog has hunt. America voted for the President who pushed this plan. You may not like it, but it’s time to quit throwing a political temper tantrum and figure out a way to co-exist.
That’s what America does. We assess and adapt under duress. One if by land and Two if by sea. Remember that?
We don’t spit in the face of average hard-working Americans and shut down our government and take away people’s pay checks because rich guys can’t play nice.
I’m taking my vote and I’m going home.
It’s puerile.
The government will grind to a halt Monday at Midnight.
This is not a car jacking that nobody saw coming. This political quagmire, like a slow migrating iceberg, has been looming for months.
And these Congressional ass wipes have done nothing to avert it. On Sunday with the countdown clock ticking, they weren’t even working. The halls of congress were empty. Where were these guys? They were in their mansions eating filet and drinking Cabernet Sauvignon.
What do they care? They’re getting paid regardless. They have health care. They won’t have their pay checks furloughed.
They should. They should get to pee at the same trough as the rest of us.
I wish that Obama and Boehner lived pay check to pay check. I wish they had a power bill due and child care expenses to balance. I wish they had to decide to go to the doctor or buy medicine or eat.
They don’t have a damn clue how most Americans are struggling.
They fight in a dream world under a dome.
Lock them in a caged octagon and make them fight. Two men enter. One man leaves.
It’s all about Obama care and partisan politics and general dislike for one another.
The GOP hates Obama care. They want to destroy it, but if they can’t destroy it, they want to at least delay it, derail it, or undermine aspects of it.
If the government is to be funded, the GOP says it will come with stipulations that delay the implementation of Obamacare.
So while this ping-pong match between parties goes on, the countdown clock ticks.
It’s one thing to send a message. It’s another thing to put real Americans in financial hardship.
Obama says “one faction of one party in one house of congress in one branch of government doesn’t get to shut down the nation just to re-fight the results of an election.”
Sarah Palin says the GOP needs to stand its ground and send a message that reflects states rights and the original designs of our founding fathers.
Nice rhetoric kids. Both sides will go home to dinner when the bell strikes midnight.
Some people caught in the middle of this mess won’t.
So what does it mean? 800,000 federal workers are told to stay home. Got a bill to pay? Sorry Mr. and Mrs. America. Screw you.
Want to go to a federal park? Sorry, this is America, we’re closed. You need to travel abroad? Get on a slow boat to China and sit with the chickens.
It has degenerated into name calling and finger pointing, but tick tock the government clock is going to shut down and everyone will have egg on their face.
This is an American problem.
If you are a federal worker, the effect is obvious. But if you invest in stocks or have a 401K, hold onto your ass.
The the markets fell 128 points today.
It’s just unacceptable.
Obamacare? Partisan politics. Rich dudes fighting rich dudes with no idea who elected them to office.
It’s sad. I’m pissed. It should work better than this.
