you know what’s crazy? I’ll tell you what’s crazy.™
The political process in this country.
it’s become a stagnating push-me pull-you of frustration.
Democrats on one side. Republicans on the other. It’s a goal line stand where inertia is exerted and there is a thrust of energy but in the end, when the pile is separated, the ball has gone no where.
California is a blue state to be sure. I talked with some people recently who want to vote Red in this blue state.
They say they will brave the blue wave and vote Red. But they they say their red vote doesn’t count in this overtly blue state..
I thought about that statement. California will undoubtedly go Blue when the votes are tallied. So a red vote here or there won’t make much of a difference this person says.
Is this what our forefathers wanted?
A citizen who feels their one vote doesn’t matter?
I wonder if this disgruntled citizen had a million votes, would it matter?
Many people say it’s their patriotic duty to vote. Others say why bother.
Many say it’s the best system in the world. Others say the system is broken.
Red – Blue – Romney – Obama.
It’s the same only different. It was gridlock before and it will undoubtedly be gridlock again.
One vote a billion votes. Unless the political system is deconstructed and put back together, the ridiculous ineptitude will sadly continue.
It’s like pouring water into a bucket with a hole. No matter how much you pour, the bucket is never filled.
Some say it’s a waste of water, a waste of time, an exercise in futility.
Others say it’s a beautiful thing to watch; a transfer of power without bloodshed.
I am a proponent of exercising your constitutional right. Will it make a difference? I would like to think so. It’s hardly a perfect system, but there are countries all over the world where the thought of democracy is a magic show with smoke and mirrors and a totalitarianism regime. Here we push a button. There they pull a trigger.
There’s a major difference.
Your vote matters. Red Blue. Obama. Romney.
Take a stand, cast a ballot. Make it count.
If it’s broken, then let’s fix it, one vote at at a time.
And that is crazy.™
