You know what’s crazy I’ll tell you what’s crazy.™
The family Harbaugh
Two tough kids from Michigan. They’re both coaches sons. They’re both ballers. Now they’ve both played in the biggest game on the planet.
It’s the first time brothers have faced each other in a Super Bowl.
Jim’s the crazy one. He’s a 49er. John is older, perhaps wiser. He leads the Ravens.
Two brothers playing in the superbowl? It’s a big deal. It’s bigger news than Betty White wearing a bikini.
Even the Harbaugh parents are celebrities. They held their own press conference. A first for parents of coaches.
“How will you feel when one son wins and the other loses?” the media asked.
Tougher question than you might think huh?
The Harbaughs are such a big part of this super bowl they have a rap video. It made me want to get up and dance like Don Cornelius on Soul Train.
Then there was another first, a joint Joint presser with opposing head coaches.
That’s never been done either.
John seems to be the more stoic coach. He is dressed in a suit and smiles frequently. Jim is the more volatile, unpredictable coach. He is dressed in a hat and sneakers like the game is five minutes away.
The questions begin and the brothers start answering, sometimes finishing each other’s sentences like lobotomized twins.
My favorite quote from Jim was simply “I concur” when asked to comment on what John had just said.
ESPN loses its mind with the Harbaugh story.
They even have a tale of the tape.
15 questions.
“John was the more talkative,” the announcer would say.
Unbelievably they put a stop watch on the press conference.
John Harbaugh spoke for 11:27 Jim spoke only 7:02
You want insanity, “John out smiled his brother 7 smiles to 3,” the announcer says.
John outspoke Jim with an average speaking time. john :42 Jim :35
Finally the game and the hug.
One coach is a winner. The other coach is the loser.
John reportedly tells Jim “I love you.”
Jim reportedly tells John; “congratulations.”
Should be an interesting Summer when the boys take over the old room in mom and dad’s house.
And that’s crazy.™
