You know what’s crazy? I’ll tell you what’s crazy.™
A school bus flying through space, tumbling through the atmosphere, breaking into chunks of fiery metal only to crush in the skull of some unsuspecting human.
Hey you on the ground, minding your own business, buying a salted pretzel, harpooning a whale, changing your FACEBOOK status while you J-Walk; “WATCH OUT!”
Some experts say there is a one in 3,200 chance of this monstrosity falling out of orbit and hitting one of us. Honestly, I wouldn’t worry. I think You have a better chance of being gunned down in a mafia hit in an Italian Restaurant, even if your name is not Gotti.
But still, the idea that this is happening, and NASA’s only consistent fact is “WE DON’T KNOW.” Well that is amazing.
Imagine hot piping lead hurling from outer space. It’s a chunk of NASA technology, like a dumpster with a lot of RAM spinning out of control, on a random collision course with Mother Earth.
NASA is the agency that put man on the moon. NASA is the agency that floats spacemen around the planet at 17,000 miles and hour.
Now one of their rejects is on a crash course with destruction and the agency that can spot water on the back side of Mars can’t tell us when this thing is going to flame on.
The UARS satellite is a bus sized, 6 ton hunk of metal that will break into 100 pieces, the heaviest of which is 300 pounds.
300 pounds! That’s like a metallic Rosie O’Donnel hurtling through the sky and smashing into your home.
NASA doesn’t say sorry, they basically say, if you don’t die, and you do come across what you suspect is a piece of satellite, don’t sell it.
Really NASA? that’s the best you got? Don’t sell our mistake on EBAY?
NASA was saying it should be a spectacular light show. But a woman interviewed on ABC news said it best when she stated; “if you see something coming at you, run.”
Good advice.
I love NASA. I love Space Technology.
I just hate the fact some Eskimon in Nome Alaska skinning a seal might get dinged in the parka hood by a flaming piece of who knows what.
And that’s Crazy.™
