You know what’s crazy? I’ll tell you what’s crazy.™
A missed post.
Something happened this past Friday that hasn’t happened in 3-and-a-half years. I missed a post.
Most of you probably didn’t even notice. Others of you who I know count on a quick read with your morning coffee might think I was abducted by space aliens.
Where was the post?
To be honest, I wrote a story. Like 918 other stories, I tried to post it. But I had computer internet issues and couldn’t get on line.
918 stories and I couldn’t post it.
The story, about an attempted ax murderer, wasn’t good by any stretch of the imagination, and you’ll get to read it tomorrow.
I’m glad to have a story in the bank, but stock piling stories was never the goal. Publishing for the world is.
No biggie. The internet has thrown me a monkey wrench before. I said to myself, I’ll get back to the internet later.
Suddenly work and life and bills and Friday night filled my brain and I realized I never hit publish.
Around midnight I said to myself; Oh oh!
Did I ever post that story?
Damn. Nope.
I wonder if anyone out there even noticed. Nobody said anything. Is that good?
It doesn’t matter. I noticed.
I would feel worse if I had simply laid down on the job and not let my digits punch the keys.
If my brain had shut down the effusive flow of verbiage and imagery and taken a siesta, I’d be pissed with myself.
If I had failed to paint the screen with a flurry of black and white font, then yes, I would be upset with myself.
But I’m surprisingly ok with the lapse.
I wrote a story, just didn’t post the story.
It’s a weak excuse like I did my homework and the dog ate my homework, but hey, it is what it is.
The snafu made me look back on this andycordan.com extravaganza.
I started it to vent to create to amuse and question.
First story was June 15th 2009. It was something about weathercasting.
918 consecutive posts since then. I only take off weekends.
Coming up on 200,000 views.
For those of you who noticed, sorry. For those of you who didn’t, then never mind. Tomorrow the attempted ax murderer story.
And that is crazy.™
