You know what’s crazy? I’ll tell you what’s crazy™
The finality of it all.
“At the end of the game, there’s only death.”
Wow is that a downer!
I said that to some one recently, as we discussed unfinished life moments.
The person looked at me like I was crazy, presumptuous, perhaps arrogant.
Maybe I’m all three.
I’m not a fortune-teller, or philosopher, but the finality of it all got me to thinking.
Make the most of the time you have left.
In the immortal words of Tim McGraw; Live life like you were dying.
That means live life with a zest, with love, with an understanding that it can all end, will end, before you want it to.
If you need to forgive someone then do it. If you need to build a bridge with them, build it.
If you don’t take care of business in your life, with your family, with your friends, with yourself, then perhaps you may never get to.
If you are lucky, life is a long football game with four quarters and plenty of highlights. There are touchdown passes and cheerleaders and celebrations and heartaches and triumphs that hopefully make you proud and make the crowd cheer.
But if you drive the ball to the one yard line and the clock expires? Then what?
Well, that’s it. Game over. You don’t get to run the ball into the end zone when double 00’s are flashing on the big board in the sky.
As Dandy Don once sang; Turn out the lights, the party’s over.
So my life recommendation to you? If you have unfinished business with friends or family, take care of it today, not tomorrow. Tomorrow sometimes doesn’t come.
Say what you mean to say. Put bygones behind you. That’s why they call them bygones. Start fresh with a new outlook on life.
