You know what’s crazy? I’ll tell you what’s crazy.™
Stripping Lance Armstrong of his 7 titles.
They say he doped. He says he didn’t.
They say they have proof. He said he didn’t test positive, ever.
Whatever happened or didn’t happen allegedly happened ions ago.
Is he lying? Did he have the better chemist?
Does it even matter anymore?
They wanted to get him, they always wanted to get him, they got him.
He is a symbol of something greater than himself. He inspires courage. Now he is painted as something sinister.
It’s sad. This guy has helped countless people and given hope to millions of others.
Now after fighting a fight that seemingly has no time frame, no final round, no finish line, Armstrong says I’m done. I won’t fight it anymore. I can’t defend myself anymore.
If he cheated as so many have suggested, it’s sad, because that means Armstrong used a platform of lies to generate his foundation of hope.
If he didn’t cheat, and he really is 7 times in a row better than the rest of humanity, then this is a travesty.
In his first statement since the Anti doping agency stripped him of his titles.
Armstrong says. “nobody needs to cry for me. I’m going to be great.” He said this while competing in a mountain bike race in Aspen, Colorado.
“Innocent till proven guilty.” Justice is suppose to be blind, but in this day and age of instant gratification through a smart phone, perception is reality is the new court of public opinion.
Armstrong may be the most respected athlete on the planet. Maybe he is also a cheater, even if nobody on the planet can prove it.
And that is crazy.™
