You know what’s crazy? I’ll tell you what’s Crazy!
These F**king photos are crazy.
THEY ARE A HOAX!
Trust me, I checked it out.
I ran this story by Urban Legends Dot Com and BAM! This visual insult to hundreds of families shows up and is quickly debunked as B.S.
The original, anonymous writer of this forwarded email alleges that these two photos were taken moments before the plane disintegrated in mid air and crashed into the Atlantic. The original emailer alleges that the plane was breaking apart, when every passenger on board was praying to God or Allah or Buddha or Jesus or whatever other spiritual power broker floats your boat, and this photographer, with his last dying breath was shooting action shots. The email would indicate the photographer was standing up in a vortex of sucking air and 500 mph terror. Limbs and seats and fuselage are being sucked apart and blasted into the ozone layer, but this guy is able to shoot two remarkably graphic photos of the last seconds on board. What is this guy work for Sports Illustrated?
This premise is so Crazy I am literally throwing up on my keyboard.
Here’s the text that accompanies the email; “The two photos attached were taken by one of the passengers before the aircraft crashed. This extraordinary photographer kept his cool, even in his last moments of life, to take these photos. The photos were retrieved from the camera’s memory stick. You will never again see photos like this. In the first photo, there is a gaping hole in the fuselage through which you can see the tailplane and a vertical fin of the aircraft. In the second photo, one of the passengers is seen being sucked out of the gaping hole.
The photos were found in a digital Casio Z750, amidst the debris. Although the camera was destroyed, the Memory Stick was recovered. Investigating the serial number of the camera, the owner was identified as Paulo G. Muller, an actor of a theatre for children known in the outskirts of Porto Alegre. It can be imagined that he was standing during the turbulence, he managed to take these photos, just seconds after the tail loss and the aircraft plunged. The structural stress probably ripped the engines away, diminishing the falling speed, protecting the electronic equipment but unfortunately not the victims. Paulo Muller leaves behind two daughters, Bruna and Beatriz.”
My 1st thought is: Shut the F**k Up!
Oh wait, I’m so mad, I think I am throwing up in my mouth again. Yes, I am. Give me a moment please. Ok, Ok, Let me wipe up a speckle of vomit from the keyboard, again. Yes, I am nauseated, but ready to continue my rant.
Ok, Just shut up you scum bag bastard. Wait I think I expressed that rancor all ready.
My 2nd thought is why would someone “photo-shop” something so horrendous and then begin forwarding it around the world?
It’s like taking pictures of your own automobile wreck while it’s happening. Your daughter is laying on the floor board with a chunk of windshield lodged in her skull. CLICK. smile honey, I need to post this crap to the world wide web. Yeah, Right!
My 3rd thought: How do I find the original author of this email so I can kick his ass.
Better yet, we should car pool this son of a bitch around the planet and let everyone who has a foot kick his ass.
Whoever created this email should get an hour alone with Michael Vick in a dog fighting ring.
He should be forced to sit on the couch of View while Whoopee Goldberg whoops him upside his head from the Left, and Elizabeth Hasselbeck slaps him in the jaw from the Right.
He should be forced to wash Rush Limbaugh’s surgical scar with a handiwipe.
My 4th thought: If these are legitimate photos, Don’t you think that they would have shown up in a real journalistic forum by now. CNN and FOX broadcast 24 hours a day all day every day. Don’t you think the last freaking photos of a commercial airliner breaking apart over the Atlantic might just generate a little buzz?
Well don’t you?
I mean I know the king of pop dying is eclipsing all other news, but i think the death of hundreds of passengers and the last moment of existence caught on camera would generate a crawl at the bottom of the screen. Christ, CNN would call the photos exclusive and sell ad space on them.
This tragedy brought to you by Alka Seltzer.
This photo is what is wrong with unsolicited forwarded emails and the reason that the journalistic revolution involving anyone with a camera is not a done deal. (see previous posts) At least not yet.
This stupid photo was forwarded to me at work. I am sure it was sent around to friends and family and co-workers by a person with as much journalistic acumen as a hay bail. The problem is, this is how easy it is to spread a hideous lie. You wouldn’t call up your best friend and say his mother fell off the Ferris wheel, and then just hang up with a pedestrian; “have a nice day.”
But forwarding and clicking and sending is essentially just that. It’s just too easy to perpetuate the lie, without remorse, without conscience, without concern for accuracy or veracity. In fact, I am certain the person who sent this would never knowingly spread a lie that might hurt so many. But pushing a button and unleashing it around the world without thought, well it has the potential to do just that.
The problem with this lie is that there is no filter. There is no one with credibility to ask tough questions, like where the hell did this come from? How did you find a memory stick in the Atlantic Ocean and manage to salvage these one of a kind photos?
Let me choke back the vomit in my mouth for a 3rd time. A memory stick? in the Atlantic
Ocean? An entire plane with people and seats and suitcases in a body of water that covers 1/2 the planet Earth and they come up with a MEMORY STICK roughly the size of a paper clip.
Get me a tissue, please. I am gagging over here.
I googled Paulo Muller’s name, the man listed in the email. Urban Legend Dot Com pops up. I also Googled Air France Pictures and Urban Legend Dot Com Pops Up.
Imagine that? it took like .00057 google seconds whatever the hell that is?
here is what it says:
URBAN LEGENDS: Photos of A330 Air France Plane Crash / Mid-Air Collision
Emailed photos purportedly taken inside the passenger cabin of A330 Air France Flight 447 moments before it broke up over the Atlantic Ocean on June 1, 2009 (originally circulated as photos of Gol Airlines Flight 1907 after mid-air collision in 2006).
That means this lie has circumnavigated the internet a million times over the course of 3 years. Every time there is a mysterious plan crash, this crap shows up.
How do you think it makes the victims of the 2006 air disaster feel? Crap, their hoax is now applied to another victim’s pain and anguish. How do you think it makes the victims of Air France feel?
How do you feel? It says graphic pictures. Did it stop the guy from sending it.
Did that stop me from opening it? No. Like the circus freak peaking bastard I am, I stepped up to the free porthole of lies and gazed into the visual insanity.
I opened what I should have deleted. But how could I know?
I am now as bad as the person who sent this picture to me, because I am writing about it here.
The only difference is, right or wrong, crazy or not, I am at least a filter. An angry, educated, filter who says, think about what you send across the planet.
You wouldn’t tell your momma that her dog is dead and hang up without checking that FIDO bought the farm, right?
Then don’t send this crap without first thinking about it.
Here’s a crazy notion. The next time you get some bull s**t like this in your in box. Hit the delete button instead of the forward button.
Now that’s crazy huh?
