You know what’s crazy? I’ll tell you what’s crazy.™
Nancy Grace.
She is a former prosectuor now turned court house pundit.
She is a former barrister now turned barracuda.
She is a rattle snake slithering in manure. She is an under arm hair soiled with perspiration.
She has a voice like broken glass and she’s aggressive like a hay bailing machine.
Nancy Grace has a face for radio and a personality that gets male pit bulls excited.
Nancy Grace is a bed bug of pontification.
Lately Grace is at the Casey Anthony trial on GMA and CNN and FOX News. Her voice screeches across the airwaves like nails on a blackboard.
Grace calls Casey Anthony Tot Mom. N.G. found Tot Mom guilty in the court of public opinion weeks ago.
She is a pit viper casting daggers with her words, her stares, her sharp barbs that cut off anyone in the anchor chair beside her.
And then the moment of truth:
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury; what say ye:
NOT GUILTY!
In a few days, the mother of the year will walk out of jail a free woman.
When pressed on how they came to a not guilty verdict, the jurors said NOT GUILTY is different than innocent.
The jurors say prosecutors didn’t prove Anthony was guilty beyond reasonable doubt and because they didn’t, the jurors didn’t want to be responsible for sentencing Anthony to death.
It sounds reasonable when you hear the jurors explain themselves. When they bring us into the jury room, what they did makes sense.
Then you listen to Nancy Grace and you hear her call the jurors dim wits. She lambasts them for coming up with a verdict contrary to her prediction.
The problem is, Grace has incited angry crowds and tossed verbal hand grenades all around lady justice’s feet. Now there is resentment against the jurors and obvious contempt for Anthony.
Here’s the truth; The jurors only heard what was permissable in a court of law. They weighed the evidence that was presented to them. They came back with a verdict. Like it or hate it that’s the system.
For what it’s worth, I’m with the majority of you on this one. I think a guilty woman has been set free.
But I also respect the legal system for presenting the facts to a jury of regular citizens and allowing them to decide the fate of a suspect.
This is how our system works. It’s what sets us apart from the rest of the world.
In Saudi Arabia they just cut off the appropriate body part in “chop chop square.”
America doesn’t work that way. Here we trust a jury of our peers. By and large the system works. And some would argue it worked in this case.
But agitators like Nancy Grace stir the pot, lift their leg and spray venom all over the place. She yells for a certain outcome. When that outcome doesn’t arrive she vomits her stomach bile.
Did Anthony kill the child? Probably.
Did the prosecution prove first degree murder beyond reasonable doubt? Obviously not.
Is Nancy Grace a blunt instrument of televised lunacy. You bet.
And that is crazy.™
